An established vineyard estate located in the Carneros Appellation. Creating elegant and balanced wines, exemplifying Toyon Farm’s distinctive terroir.
Toyon Farm’s 35 acres of vines lie at the heart of the Carneros region, bordering Hyde, Cakebread and Bayview Vineyards. First planted in 1993, our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay have graced vineyard-designate bottlings from some of the Napa Valley’s finest producers such as Fait Main, Ancien, Alpha Omega, and Saintsbury.
The Carneros American Viticultural Area (AVA) stretches from San Pablo Bay up to the southern tips of the towns of Napa and Sonoma, and spans the Petaluma gap to the Napa River. While the region is typically defined by cool, foggy weather and dense clay-loam soils, the northeast corner of Carneros has a more mixed geological composition.
A majority of Toyon’s vines sit in loamy soil derived from sedimentary rock, though volcanic tufa and gravel beds crop up in some corners of the ranch. The larger vineyard blocks are on western-facing slopes, capturing the warmth and light that breaks after the customary morning fog. This unique terroir is highly suitable for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals, producing premium grapes.
Our plantings include +/- 20 acres of Chardonnay and +/- 9 acres of Pinot Noir.
